And the sky rolled endlessly on, an ocean of mottled velvet blue. She breathed deeply, as she often did in thought, and leaned her head slightly backwards. Her eyes met the side of his head, betrayed by his distant refusal to see her back.

"And would you take back everything else?" she said, hesitant. "Would you take back the broken if it meant things could have turned out better?

Silence. His hand twitched momentarily and he sighed.

"The broken, the wars, everything?" He swallowed a breath behind what seemed to be an motionless hour. In an admiring move, he returned his gaze to the sinking skyline and linked his finger with hers. She looked up again, her pinky curling.

"It was never broken. And I wont take it back."
